Dr Shafiqur Rahman is the President of the Bangladesh Australia Trade and Investment Council. He is also the president of Dreamers Academy Australia (DAA), an education-focused organisation that focuses on research, training, and academic development. DAA promotes research excellence through tailored academic support and publication training. 

 

A former Economist at the US Embassy in Dhaka, Dr Rahman is a Marine Engineer by training. He holds an MBA from Dhaka University, a PhD from Macquarie University, and a Graduate Certificate from Western Sydney University. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Malaysia Perlis and a Case Teaching course at Harvard University. Currently, he serves as a University Professor and Senate Member at the International Open University. He served as the Coordinator for the Voice of America Dhaka office from 1994 to 1995.
